Tony Malaty

Tony is the Founder of Top Right Quadrant. He has over 30 years of international experience in financial services and the Canadian public sector with expertise in strategy development, risk management, assessment of operations, risk, data and IT capabilities. He is a hands-on leader for the delivery of complex business transformation, data and technology modernization programs.

He held executive roles at major consulting and IT services firms including Accenture, Capco, Bearingpoint and, most recently, as Senior Managing Partner leading the Financial Services Consulting portfolio at Gartner Canada.  He also held interim exec roles at major financial institutions in Canada and the UK.  His experience in the public sector spans large Federal government departments and financial Crown Agencies such as Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Export Development Canada (EDC),  Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC), FINTRAC, CDIC.

 

He led business & IT transformation strategy & roadmap development initiatives to strengthen digital capabilities. He drove the definition and delivery of data & analytics strategies and roadmaps to achieve growth, enhance stakeholder experience (clients, staff, and partners) and accelerate time-to-value.  He also helps clients to transition to more effective and agile ways of working at enterprise-level scale. He has a successful track record of executing, or turning around, transformation programs of over US$150 million.

He is currently focused on advising clients on strategic transformation and delivering applied innovation solutions to deliver predictive analytics and fraud detection using AI/Machine Learning and to enable trust networks for credentials validation and secure information sharing using blockchain.

Tony is a senior advisor and guest lecturer for the Telfer EMBA at the University of Ottawa and speaker at business and technology conferences.

Sheri Frantz

Sheri leads Strategy & Marketing. She has over 20 years of experience leading clients through complex initiatives including corporate strategic planning, marketing and visioning, and IT solutions development. She has a unique blend of business and technology expertise and is a creative thinker, with a keen ability to engage and align key stakeholders to meet shared goals. Sheri has worked across various industries including Retail, Postal, Government, Security Solutions, Telecom, Oil and Gas, and Marketing/Advertising.

She is an accomplished strategist brings a dynamic way of working with clients. She brings energy and clarity to organizations by helping to focus their resources to innovate and succeed.

As part of the Corporate Strategy Team at Canada Post, she was responsible for identifying and evaluating new growth opportunities in the digital space while developing and deploying key initiatives across the business portfolios to support the company’s long-term plans. She also played an integral role in defining the Crown Corporation’s $1B savings transformation plan for submission to Treasury Board along with the long-term digital strategy.

Jennifer Liu

Jennifer leads Capital Markets and Risk Management. She has over two decades of business strategy and implementation experience in the Financial Services industry, including work experience at Wall Street banks and in major consulting firms.

She is a seasoned project delivery leader and subject matter expert in data and analytics, target operating model design, business and product development, operational efficiency improvement, merger integration, strategic planning, and marketing and client strategies, regulatory compliance, and market infrastructure development initiatives.

She is known for driving innovative solutions by leveraging Machine Learning, AI and Blockchain, including design and implementation of ML solutions for data quality improvement in both retail banking and Capital Markets.

She held practice leadership roles at EY, KPMG and Capco. She was also Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York where she led cross-functional strategic initiatives in Capital Markets, Corporate and Investment Banking. As Associate Partner at EY, she was the Head of Canadian Capital Markets Advisory Practice, Capital Markets Innovation Lead, and the Financial Risk Management Practice leader. At KPMG, Jennifer led the Canadian Capital Markets Consulting and Financial Service Risk Management Practice.

Jennifer is an expert at delivering business transformation and regulatory change programs including Dodd-Frank, Volcker, Central Clearing, CCAR, FRTB, IFRS9, SIMM and LIBOR transition.

Sebastian Maurice

Sebastian is the CEO of OTICS Advanced Analytics and advises Top Right Quadrant clients on adopting AI/ML to increase the value of data to the business. He has over 25 years of experience providing business solutions for complex business problems by strategically applying technology and advanced analytics for effective decision-making. He is a recognized global expert in data & analytics and Transactional Machine Learning.

He is the author of several publications in international, peer reviewed, journals and book chapters and author of the first book on applying ML to transactional data streams: "Transactional Machine Learning with Data Streams and AutoML" (Apress Publishing).

He held several leadership roles to drive Data & Analytics practices and innovation at Gartner, Ayla Networks, Accenture, and Hitachi Solutions. He also lectures on Data & Analytics and Software Engineering at several institutions including University of Toronto, McMaster University, Seneca College and at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.

He is the Founder and CTO of OTICS Advanced Analytics where he developed the world’s first Transactional Machine Learning (TML) on real-time data streaming on Confluents Apache Kafaka and Redpanda’s platform.

The TML solution he created has been proven to deliver advanced predictive analytics in capital markets, health care and energy sectors as well as fraud detection in banking, crypto and prescription drugs

Edward Wong

Edward leads our AI and Web3 Innovation. He has over 25 years of business and technology strategy plus project delivery experiences in financial services gained as a consulting leader at Deloitte, PwC, and IBM. Most recently, Edward was the Director of Digital Strategy & Innovation at RBC Insurance from 2016 to 2022.  While at RBC, Edward was the strategy lead, delivered and engaged as a thought-leader on various domains including the digital strategy, omni-channel strategy, customer 360, vision 2035, and advised on the digital-data migration to Aviva’s Guidewire platform for RBC's home & auto customers after the 2016 acquisition. 

Edward was also actively embedded with the Agile delivery teams by representing the business/executive stakeholders to ensure the projects are aligned to the strategic vision and enterprise objectives. 

While at RBC, Edward was an active member on the steering committees and leadership councils for innovation, digital and customer experience, data and governance, Blockchain and digital assets, enterprise architecture, and other strategic and technology initiatives. 

Finally, Edward is a registered innovator with the US Patent Office for an AI/ML solution leveraging Natural Language Understanding and Processing (NLU/P) technologies similar to the offering by OpenAI ChatGPT. 

Edward is constantly innovating with endless curiosity to improve the digital experiences and currently focused on Web3 which include technologies such as artificial intelligence, Blockchain-Crypto Assets, and the Metaverse.

Normand Zucco

Normand leads Banking and Insurance. He is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of consulting and industry experience, in Canada and overseas, designing and implementing innovative strategies to drive performance improvement.  He has a broad range of experience in strategy design, change management, customer experience design, channel strategies and implementation, operational risk management, process improvement and business transformation. Normand has been an executive for 25 years with organizations including BMO, KPMG, Capco and Payments Canada.

Normand led the Integrated Distribution & Operations group at BMO, with primary responsibility for the client experience. He also led a large-scale omnichannel transformation program for the personal and commercial banking group, actively involved in the strategic development, detailed design, national implementation, and associated change management of a new data-driven, end-to-end service delivery model across core distribution channels. He also led the successful deployment of a Customer Relationship Management application and tools to over 17,000 users across BMO branches, contact centre and support groups

He has built and led consulting practices at KPMG, Capco and Optimus SBR, where he grew the banking practice from 5 to 155 consultants.
